It seems like nothing is going to stop Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles from getting back to the Super Bowl this winter. Through three games, Philly has been on absolute fire, with Hurts leading the charge on offense. The young signal-caller was downright electric once again in Week 3, powering the Eagles to an impressive 25-11 victory.
Hurts can make you suffer with his strong right arm, while his impressive abilities running the football are a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to try and contain. Tampa Bay had no answer for Hurts, as he posted 305 total yards and two touchdowns – both scores were rushing ones.
After the final whistle, Hurts revealed that he was actually battling flu-like symtoms on Monday night. You would have never been able to guess that, as he looked to be at the top of his game.
Jalen Hurts endured flu-like symptoms during Eagles' victory and he was not alone. Center Jason Kelce said a number of Eagles were under the weather during the lead-up to the 25-11 win at the Buccaneers.

Jalen Hurts battling the flu on Monday night makes the Eagles win even more impressive
“Just us executing,” Hurts said via ESPN on the win despite him feeling ill. “It’s not the first time I’ve dealt with this or had to play with something like this. And it always happens on Monday night for whatever reason.”
With Hurts playing so well, the Eagles are the only undefeated team in the NFC East and the expectation is they’ll cruise to another division title. The Cowboys figure to give Philly the most issues there, but they’re coming off a stunning loss on Sunday to the lowly Arizona Cardinals. Dak Prescott continues to get trolled for his poor play.
Washington was smashed by Buffalo 37-3, while the Giants couldn’t hang with the 49ers and suffered a 30-12 defeat. Things are looking rough in the NFC East, just not for the Eagles. This weekend, Hurts and Co. will take on the Commanders in a meeting they should have no issues with. Then, they’ll face the Rams and Jets before an Oct. 22 date with the Dolphins.
People are already counting down the days for that battle, as it very well could end up being a preview for this year’s Super Bowl. Hurts and the Eagles are still bummed for not taking home the Lombardi Trophy last February, with Philly blowing a double-digit lead in that game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles keep seeing their Super Bowl odds rise
After an unreal offseason, however, the Eagles continue to see their odds rise. A big reason for that is no doubt the play of Hurts, but new running back D’Andre Swift has been fantastic to watch too. In the Week 2 win over the Vikings, Swift broke out for 175 yards and a touchdown.
He followed that up with a tremendous game vs. the Bucs, posting 130 yards on only 16 carries. With Swift looking like his old self, it’s only going to make life easier for Hurts and the rest of the offense. The start to the campaign has been pretty much perfect for the Eagles and more great memories will surely be on the way for the fanbase. It could be a year to remember for Birds supporters.
